Greyhound

Met a lovely greyhound today. Ex racer. His owner explained that he was found covered in mild-dew and blood, in a suitcase. The blood had come from his ear which had been removed due to the ID tattoo. The dog was near death. THIS is why you don't go grey-hound racing EVER!

It's horrific what happens to greyhounds, I believe it needs to be policed a lot better, but I still believe that if there were better controls in place it's wouldn't be a bad thing.

As you probably know my two dogs are retired racing greyhounds and they still love nothing more than running together, on the rare occasion they get off the lead in a large area they immediately do lap and lap of wherever they are and it is fantastic to see them running together the speed and agility is unbelievable!

through the charity we got them from we take them back to the racetrack where they raced ,to a fundraising day and they get to race around the track again together, they LOVE it, a lot of the retired hound owners also take them to race nights to help raise awareness and on these nights all the bets are donated to the charity.

Basically what I'm saying is, a lot of dogs are treated badly, hundreds are killed, and that is awful, but if there could be a way of controlling it, the actual racing the dogs love x
