Yes, I know exactly what you mean. I once went to a church like that with a few friends. They had "faith healings" and urged people to come forward. Much like a rock-and-roll concert. What saves, God or the beat of the music? Or maybe a fist full of dollars?
Not being there, there's not much I could really say. However, judging from the fact that I hear of pretty much any and all churches being "about money" or something, I can say this: Churches need money regardless to pay for ministries, maintenance, etc. There may be money that's squandered beyond that, but yeah.
If you'd been there on multiple occasions and this happened all or most of the time you'd have a really good point, but it seems like you only have one particular instance to speak on.
I don't really know enough about it to speak too deeply on it, but yeah, point remains.
