Summary: The Underground's New Year's Eve Celebration~
-On the night of New Year's Eve, far below the City of Spirals, the Underground is holding its own celebration. Up in the first level of the underground city, the residential area, is a huge gathering of all sorts of people. Shops and stands border the main courtyard, business owners shouting out their wares, goading people to buy their products with smooth-talking lies. (Some aren't lying, but it's hard to tell.) In the middle of the courtyard is a large, circular fountain, fresh water bubbling up from some underground spring. It's open to all to take a drink, or refresh themselves after a long day at work.
The lights from the second level have been rerouted, and now that extra electricity shines down on the courtyard below, streetlamps giving off an off-white glow, as well as other lights strung around the walls of the cavern. The sight of the gathering is a massive cavern, the ceiling so high, one wouldn't be able to see the top if they were to shine a bright light directly upwards. It gives the effect of being outside, in broad daylight, though the lighting feels a little off.
There is no set time for this New Year's celebration. Shops are open until the owners feel like closing them, and stands will probably be open even longer. The giant clock set into an engraved portion along the far wall ticks away the hour, though few pay heed to it. The general consensus has been set: Get drunk, be merry, and try to ignore the slight, stifling lack of oxygen. (1/4th of the oxygen being pumped down to the Underground has been redirected to give those in Spirix an extra boost of air. It's like this every year.)-
