thanks for the great, thought-provoking post. i wish i had a bit more to say, actually, though...there's maybe too much there to respond to and i'm feeling like i don't know where to begin. don't be surprised if i process for a few days and come back and say something. :)

Hi, just wanted to say I relate to a lot of what you said - like the poster above me I'll probably have to muse on it for a while :)

Is the issue MY feelings about my gender, or my feelings about others' perception?

Oh Cosmos, Yes! I've had thoughts along the same lines -- never quite managed to briefly sum it up the way you have -- and my conclusion was that it didn't matter in a real sense; ie, if transitioning will make me happier, it doesn't really matter if I'm "really transgender" or not; maybe I shouldn't have to transition to express myself in the ways I want, but I can't move to Pendor yet.

Of course the other questions -- summing up to: will I be happier after having done this? -- are not always so easily answered and yet are the most important.

Yes, the NT's cannot grasp our balances. To "us" it's often a matter of knowing what we like and liking what we know as an end in itself. To the NT worldview our paths are seemingly anathema.
I've come to accept that the ones needing to change are THEM not US.
As for the most part- WE do not seek the weak spots of others in even remotely comparable fashion to what some mundanes seem hell bent on doing to us. *I* often feel sobered by the reality check on my wardrobe. Till the day comes that WHATEVER we wear will not be a literal life safety risk we are not truly free.
