My experience with autism began long before I ever had kids.  I was at a gynecology appointment, just a check up, and my mother was there with me.  She started venting about how frustrating I was to live with.  She had reasons, I wasn't an easy child.  It wasn’t a really big deal any more, just something she did.  But the doctor began finishing her ( Read more... )

Thanks. I debated on making it public. Merely because of the brief mention of my mother. She is, understandably, still sensitive about our past together. I didn't want to make her uncomfortable, but couldn't tell the story without that tidbit. I actually have to smile now when I think of her venting about it, as I do the same with Ayanna.
