My last post was, to say the least, a little alarmist.  And, with all the scare tactics being proliferated on the internet, it's no wonder.  I had a remarkably fortunate chance tonight, however, to speak at great length with an actual TSA agent.  He was off duty of course.  And I felt it important to pass on what he told me.

I definitely agree with you here. One can't have things all ways, if you want airport security you have to accept a certain amount of infringement of liberty. The people carrying out the checks can't just wave through those who "look" innocent. I did get a bit annoyed by the somewhat hysterical reactions... so someone runs their hands over you, is it such a big deal?
