On Universal Civil Rights

I have been thinking a lot about civil rights issues tonight.  The thoughts kinda came on from listening to an interview Lynda Carter did on the radio tonight.  See, she Grand Marshalls for a lot of Gay Pride parades, especially in her hometown of Phoenix.  So, naturally, the conversation moved from her music to her support of  Civil rights.  ( Read more... )

There are so many reasons why I love you, but seriously, this post puts a lot of them in perspective.
I know how much this stuff challenges you at your core, and I know how risky it is for you to reveal your thoughts about it. And you still have the courage to put it out there for people to read.

Honestly, I was more concerned that I wasn't getting my point across. During the Proposition 8 fiasco there was so much propaganda about Prop 8 being about denying gays their civil rights, but it was never about that for me. Nor was it for anyone in my direct circle of friends. Yet, finding the right way to say it has proven more difficult than I would have expected.

I hate that everything has to be an "us versus them" type of thing.
