yeah. i really like jolie holland, and she has a musical saw player in her band. i've never heard a themerin before i don't think.

have you ever heard of veda hille? in her one album, spine, there is a saw. it's so sad and beautiful and strange. veda hille just rocks no matter what, though.

I like jolie holland, too.

and the theramin is that weird creepy spacecraft sound in all those b movies.

it shouldn't be so bad to learn. i just have no money to buy a "professional" musical saw... but supposedly there are certain brands of saws meant for cutting wood that are really good. and then i can get a cheap cello bow to play it
