Dansez la revolution! I came down with a case of Dance Dance Revolution fever today! Tried it for the first time in an arcade and I'm hooked. I think the machine actually booed me when I made mistakes, but I had a thick enough skin to persist, it's a fantastic cardio exercise

And Punk? who knows? When I was young in a small town, I gaped at every slightly "alternative" looking person I saw and it was (among other things) a means of bonding with others; now people are so jaded there is no banding together around freakish, different style. Now it is so commercial. Long has there been MTV. Or whatever.

I went to a suburban arcade so I didn't have to jiggle in front of the cool kids in KoreaTown, and I actually was so focused on trying to do the steps that I forgot I was out in public jiggling and sweating and generally being goofy!
Oddly it brought out my competitive nature, I kept plugging money into the machine because I wanted to get a better score.
Regarding punk, it's supposed to be DIY and not produced in a sweat shop. Geez. You absolutely right, m'dear, tv has changed personal style. How to be original in the information age when imitation is considered flattery.
