Summary: Albus comes out to his family, some react better then others.
A/N: i'm stunned at myself for writing something g rated. also, while i don't hate percy, someone had to be the nasty family member.

The plan is by the end of the week everyone will know. It's not a easy schedule, but it has to be done. That doesn't mean Albus is going to host a huge celebration to talk about it, the idea itself seems ridiculous. Instead he plans on telling each family separately. It's easier to break the news four at a time rather then dozens.

The first family he tells is Aunt Fleur and Uncle Bill and Victoire and Dominique and Louis. To them the idea of Albus liking men is hardly shocking. Fleur and Bill were both bisexual before they settled for each other and raised their children to believe in pansexuality. Victoire and Dominique and Louis see no difference between male, female, gender queer, or part creature. It's actually rather heartening to see some of his cousins attracted to personality instead of pretty face and nice body.

"I'm in love with a man," he tosses out in the midst of dinner.

"Ohh, do we know him?" Dominique asks. Though they do, Albus shakes his head. The Delacour-Weasleys aren't known for their closed mouths, the second he says a name it'll be announced to everyone Louis and the rest know.

"I don't have to ask that you're using a protective spell, do I?" Bill asks, momentarily serious. Albus shakes his head again. While they haven't gotten to sex yet, he's certainly had the lesson drilled into his head often enough for it to stick.

"Albus, would you pass the peas?" Fleur asks. He passes the bowl across the table, and the conversation turns from his sex life to Louis wanting to try out on a summer Quidditch team.

The second person he comes out to is Uncle George. It's strange to meet him at the house, it's so silent now that Roxanne and Fred are living with Angelina. Albus finds himself at Wheezes most days, whenever he feels the ennui creep up. Albus has a very low threshold for boredom. The shop is always exciting, customers to chat with or experiments to try with George and Lee. 27 Jackers Lane is a huge contrast, and Uncle George's mood is befitting of the house, not the shop. It's close to the first time Albus has seen his uncle melancholy, and it's unsettling.

He helps the man begin to pack up Angelina's clothing, hands itching for something to do. He knows that he or another member of the family will end up taking the box to her, George isn't stable enough to do it himself. Secretly he hopes that uncle George moves back into the tiny space above his shop. It might be smaller, but it has to be better then living in this house of crushed memories.

They spend their time in silence, and finally Albus tosses it out there, less from needing George to know and more to try to spark some sort of conversation. Like the Delacours he doesn't seem to care much either, he only jokingly insists the boy had better be a Gryffindor. When Albus corrects with Ravenclaw, he doesn't actually seem to care.

Sadly, that's the last of his open minded relatives. It's onto the hard sells. He has to hit them all in one day because they're bound to gossip and the news should come from him in each case. The Delacours may let it fall out of their mouths with the same causality that they talk about anything else because to them it's not anything shocking, George might make a few crude jokes, but for them it's just a normal thing. For everyone else it's going to be a revelation, and revelations get talked about.

He visits Percy and Audrey and Molly and Lucy first. As always, their house is hellish. Audrey breeds crups for a living, with each other as well as muggle dogs for crossbreeding. At last count there are thirteen animals in the house, five female crups, three male, a great dane, a bulldog, two cocker spaniels and a poodle. Albus can hardly breath for all the dander in the air and thinks that Molly and Lucy must have lungs of steel to survive at all.

Molly and Lucy play on the kitchen floor, each six year old attempting to wrestle a chew toy out of their preferred dog's mouth. Percy and Audrey face him across the table and Albus feels like it's an inquisition. It's odd, the layout of the Stipes-Weasley kitchen is nearly identical to the Delacour-Weasley's, but the atmosphere couldn't be more different.

"I'm in love with a man," he informs them, for the first time feeling oddly guilty about the fact. He reminds himself to be there for Molly and Lucy as they grow up, with parents as dry as they have they're going to need real people who can understand them. What kind of parents would insist one twin have short hair the other long regardless of the girl's preference because they want to easily tell their children apart? From what Albus has heard, Grandma was always getting fooled by George and Fred and she never complained.

"You are aware that homosexuality is illogical? The human imperative is to produce offspring, and if you decide you prefer men you're denying that." Percy informs him.

Audrey doesn't say anything, just looks disapproving. Albus thinks they can go get stuffed, logic is for Ravenclaws, not Slytherins. And it's unfair to look disapproving when you've just let a poodle shit in your kitchen. Albus quickly decides he doesn't have to put up with this. He pushes the chair back and leaves the table, squats down and gives Molly and Lucy quick hugs before leaving.

From there it's straight to Aunt Hermione and Uncle Ron and Hugo and Rose, and like every time he sees his cousin, he wants to smack her. This time Rose is wearing a beret and no matter how much Albus explains how ridiculous she looks she won't take it off. Whilst the cousins don't care, neither adult seem very impressed with his 'choice'. He knows that Uncle Ron will come around, but he's not sure about Aunt Hermione. For someone who was so passionate about the rights of creatures she doesn't much care for the rights of minorities.

Grandma and Grandpa are next. As Albus had figured, they don't have a problem with the gender portion of his declaration. They just think he's stupid for believing himself in love at fifteen. Older people always think they know more then younger people, and it gets worse the larger the age difference is. Grandma and Grandpa always seem to think he's a complete moron, and it's not often that he can handle it without getting defensive and sarcastic. It's why he lets James or Lily deal with them during family events.

"You only find the right one once," Grandpa tries to press into him.

"That often?" he replies sarcastically.

"We just know you can't have found him so soon. But it's sweet you think so." Albus is a Slytherin, he is not sweet, he has never been sweet, he will never be sweet. Getting the information out then getting out had been the sum total of his plan for Grandma and Grandpa, he stumbles for an excuse then leaves.

The last group he talks to are his own parents. James and Lily can be informed later, or they can learn it from some of the cousins, it doesn't really matter to him. But he's got to talk to Mum and Dad before Uncle Percy finishes researching cures or Uncle Ron throws a spaz and needs to talk to his best mate.

With them though, he can't just stop at outing himself, which they seem to take well enough. He'd never figured them for being overly upset, though eventually mum will cry because he'll never have kids they'll support him as much as they always have. Unfortunately he has to continue, mention whom his boyfriend is. "Look, I know it's awkward. I wouldn't be telling you this, only Scorpius doesn't want to be a tourist this summer, his parents are about to drag him to France."

"Scorpius Malfoy?"

"I thought we were supposed to get over our bigotry and mistrust of last names Dad." it's a bit of a cheap shot, but it gets the point across. Even if Dad doesn't like the idea of him dating a Malfoy, he knows better then to become publicly upset about it. Mum and Dad don't need to be thrilled with his choice in boyfriends, they don't even need to be overly accepting. They just need to let him invite him over for the summer, so they're not separated for two months.
