Everybody is different. You're the intelligent sensitive type so what you feel isn't abnormal.
I hope you'll find something you like. It sounds like you might go to the NY job. I know then friends and family are more likely to visit you since it is somewhat closer to IN.
Hopefully it will work out either way...
I can't wait to move away from IN. It destroys your soul.
