That's probably a fair way to say it. In many ways, it is like exhaling after holding your breath. This is at the mid-way point in my summer project, which is the tail end of the MBA. While there are ever-present concerns about getting good results, doing the final writeup, and finalizing plans for September, today, right now, was a bit of a relief ( Read more... )

Amen to that last point. Sometimes I think the only reason I play basketball is to reach the point of exhaustion where my panting self finally relaxes and lets go of that internal ball of tension. Exercise is still the best way I've found of "properly relaxing", with piano a distant second. Sex third, now that I think about it. :)

Exercise has played that role more recently, with rock climbing being the best so far. It demands total concentration in under 5 minutes. I'm cycling these days, which is great, but you really need a half hour before it really kicks in.
