Take it back to the store and show it to them, and they'll probably give you a refund. Don't get litiginous because that just makes stores more likely to cover these things up instead of dealing with them.
a friend of mine from waterloo on found a piece of machinery in her cereal and sent it to the company with a letter explaining the mystery piece and the company was actually really happy. they told her that they were glad she brought the problem to their attention and i think she got a bunch of free stuff out of it. so i say write to them, just be firm that you're angry but stay polite. if you arent polite they'll probably throw your letter away.
p.s. thats frickin nasty and i cant believe that was in your food :(
My sister's boyfriend works for the Canadian Food Inspection Agency and his job is to actually go around and investigate complaints about this type of thing (he's been to a few chocolate manufacturers with bug problems) so it would probably help to contact them and tell them about it... write to the company to, see if you can get free stuff :)
