WORSHIP

Is there a communal day of worship? Describe it.

There is not a certain day in the middle of the year for the Taoists to worship their faith; they believe that every single day of the year should be celebrated the same, with full of joy of everything around them.

What is the private prayer practice in this tradition? Describe it.

There is no certain way they pray. Instead, they do various kinds of prayer, like meditation, where one stays calm for a period of time and reflects the things in their lives. Another way of prayer for them is yoga.

What are some of the symbols in the place of worship?

The most popular symbol for Taoism is the Yin Yang. In the Oriental overview, two great, opposing forces fill the universe, and world harmony depends upon their interplay, being the Yin and the Yang.

a) yin: natural qualities of darkness, coolness, femaleness, and dampness, as well as with dying things and the moon.

b) yang: natural qualities of brightness, warmth, maleness, and dryness, as well as in growing things, and the sun.

Are there holy places associated with this tradition? Why are they holy?

When it has been claimed for centuries that this religion has a so-called “Holy City,“ Taoism does not have a "Holy City". Each sect usually derives from a certain area and that temple is considered the "Holy City".

Are there any holy days in this faith? How are they celebrated?
