[For Brad]

May 11, 2009 12:01

Over a week it's been since Nate last saw Brad. This is notable for several reasons but not entirely unexpected, considering the circumstances of their last meeting, which largely involved Nate trying to tempt Brad into bed and nearly succeeding. Embarrassing as it is for Nate to recall his actions during those three inexplicable days, he at least has an excuse for them, dubious though it might be. It isn't as though Nate's never done humiliating things in his life, but it's not as simple as that. Not by a long shot, because while Nate can claim fucked up magical island influence, by all accounts Brad cannot.

Over a week Nate's let it go, waiting. As much as Brad is certain to want to forget those three days happened at all, he's sure to understand the impossibility of that, too. So Nate has waited, giving Brad his time to man up and face the music. They're going to have to confront the situation sooner or later, and letting it go much longer is only going to make it more difficult.

Nate swallows down the bitter pill of his regret and embarrassment with all the aplomb of a man used to facing difficult and intensely frustrating situations. It's easy to make note of when Brad returns home, and that's where Nate is, sitting stoically upon Brad's bed, fingers tapping quietly against his lap as he waits.
