[exiting to head for the Mess Hall, closing the door quietly behind him]

[waits till he's gone to massage the sore shoulder gently]

[gets out of bed, carefully, and crosses the room to open the door, possibly leaning against the doorframe a bit]

[shifts the bag of food to one arm]

[starts back for the bed, leaning on the dresser for support]
