So I didnt go to choir last night, just so that I could go running.  On tuesday I couldnt go running because Marc bought tickets to the Cubs game at work so we had to go to that.  I wasnt about to take two days off running.  No way, no how.  Anyways, I'm going running again tonight and I'm pretty sure Marc is coming with me.  That excites me ( Read more... )

i graze all day. i eat cereal and a banana before the gym. a small sandwich (peanut butter or deli turkey and cheese on whole grain) and an orange right after (my blood sugar gets floopy, so i eat RIGHT after the gym); a bigger meal for lunch (either leftovers or another sandwich and yogurt); an apple a bit later and a small sandwich at home right after work. works well for me. all those sandwiches get annoying, but i need to get my fiber and protein in somehow and in small doses. some days i might substitute others (soup from work or wraps or whatevs); but yeah; eat lots during the day; you feel better and you work it off before bed.

and try as i might, i just can't run (consistently). my shins (especially) and my knees just get mutinous. i can manage a run maybe once a week. otherwise i do the elliptical for an hour or hour and a half.

i had it in the back of my mind that i would run one of your races with you before the season's over. a shorter one, and i wouldn't expect you to stay with me the whole time (obviously, ha) but just cuz it'd be fun (and to prove i could, haha).

DO IT!!! I run races with inexperienced runners all the time and I stay with them the entire race! Nothing makes me happier than to help a friend with that accomplishment. I run plenty of races so I dont care if I run one and dont get to run fast or whatever. However, you might want to punch me by the end of the race because I'll be talking the whole time and trying to encourage you...

you sound like you're really kicking some ass right now...way to go :)
