I've had a sobering realization in the past few days. It's not really worth it to me to argue and debate with people about issues that are important to me, unless I know that person has an open mind. Too many times I've put forth arguments only to smack full force into a brick wall. Ouch ( Read more... )

I have noticed that everyone in a struggle have to have an attitude of "Them/Us". Unfortunately, since the conservatives have a majority of things in their favor, or at the least that liberal agendas have the get past their attacks, it leaves little to the whole "We are the defenseless others". Liberals are wide open to make that statement anytime they need to rise to the occasion.
Also the sense of superiority that comes from being the ones in charge seem to lead to silly things like "I am in charge, therefore right". I think someone should remind them of the teenage years whenever that argument is brought up.

Creationism is fine, but young earth creationism or literal Bible interpretation not so much.

Creationism as in "Let's teach this in science class" and saying that Darwinism is "just a theory wah wah wah".
