i've enjoyed the bba this year, too. i never realized before that starlings a) work in adult teams to manage children and b) herd the kids.
at least, if what i saw (twice) is not completely anomalous.
three adults dive-bombing a juvenile who had fallen from the nest. not to injure, but to move it out of the middle of the grass and into cover.
very cool stuff, though the cause of several days' incarceration for my very annoyed kitties.
