Well, I've already been rejected from the mundane SF issue because he didn't want space travel and has too much of it. Errr, where was that in the guidelines. Sheesh. Oh well, at least I got a rejection as opposed to the black hole that all my other Interzone stories fall into ( Read more... )

Except... EXCEPT, it matched their requirements exactly. I had nothing in it that wasn't allowed. And according to the Wiki def, I consider frikkin Mars near Earth. Space travel? It took place on a Mars research space station, everything in it based on what they're planning in tne next 30 years and Aldrin's extrapolations.

Yeesh! Why didn't they just say, nothing in space? And what's with all the (even more) cutesy, quaint, faddish new genres and subgenres? All right so it's been going on for awhile but every few years you have to send your story out and no longer call it fantasy but magic realism, not horror but dark fantasy, not literary mythos but slipstream, not SF but mundane SF. AAARRRRGGH! grumbble muumbmbleee &$&%)#@&!@#$$%_#
