Lovely essay dearest. It was Moulin Rouge, and don't ask why I was thinking about it.

Loved the vid, omnipresent worked much better for pov and you know I love it when you need me. Scully's story stayed dark this year.

Oh Diana, it's funny for me how I can vid things I hate.

I never got the hang of that particular skill - I either deconstruct it into something I at least find interesting or I won't bother. Diana had a prominent role in 'Pavement', but it can be summed down by quoting numerous characters on Arrested Development with Scully going, 'Her?'

And yes, Scully's story was dark and she had to deal with a lot of asshole-behavior from Mulder. I come down on immature defense mechanism of a kindergarten boy who pulls pigtails. Plus he can't handle when Scully gets emotional, never. I think a fuse in Mulder's brain burns through and he wants her to snap back to normal, because otherwise they both go crazy or fuck against a wall.

I'm happy with the changes, you know me and my drafts and what to expect, but I was surprised that you ended up with the same conclusion, because it didn't even make sense in my head. So you going, yeah, I thought that was what I thought was strange. Heh.

This this this this this.

I loved it in the first five seconds. I'm going to have to watch it about ten more times before I'm in the headspace to give you a proper comment. But I fully intend to.

Oh, I'm so happy this vid exists!

Yay, I'm so happy you loved the vid and let me tell you, I loved vidding it. The song has this perfect X-files atmosphere in my mind and I seriously had an unholy amount of fun with S5-Scully. She is all grown-up and in control of herself.

This is awesome! One thing I really like about your vids is how you do a lot of fast cutting, but it never feels overly rushed; you pick just the right images, which make this immense impact in just a fraction of a second, and so the sequences with a lot of fast cuts feel measured rather than jerky. I like the way you linger on the odd clip, too.

Some moments I really enjoyed were the lights at 1:33, the section right after that where the singer does those really fast "la la la la"s, and the X-rays at 3:20.

The 'la la la'-section made me giddy, when I first heard the song, because I knew I could use some lighter moments there. It had this perfect whip splash moment later, when the mood switches to really dark and threatening at 1:57. The X rays were one of the first clips I edited at the end. It was such a perfect eclipse in the show of what Scully and Mulder belief these chips mean and who or what put them there. Scully is really uncomfortable pushing the 'Alien did it'-angle, even when she is convinced that there is more going on than men destroying human test subjects ( ... )
