Kikuchi Hiro isn't a nice guy unless he wants to be. The first few episodes concentrate on how much of a troll he is. He trolls a fellow clone, Aoyagi Masamune; in fact, the first time he meets Masamune it's when he's about to commit suicide by walking off the edge of a building. The first thing Hiro does is mock his attempt at suicide & goad him to go kill himself. He even goes so far as to make grand gestures & goes on & on about what kind of thoughts Masamune has regarding the issue before saying he'll help & then pushes him off the building.

Masamune wakes up in the hospital & thinks that's that. Until he meets Hiro again. Hiro offers to 'switch' lives with him & then goes about taking his place everywhere. He trolls Masamune HARD during the first few episodes. Even going so far as to try & convince his kind of girlfriend, Marika, to be his. Saying things like how she's in love with him because she hasn't looked him in the eye. He goes on & on about how it's their destiny & fate & etc. It's really horrible, okay. He just. Doesn't care how he hurts other people.

I mean, Hiro has an unpleasant personality. He's arrogant & he has a tendency to not care about what he says to others & how it affects them. He'll constantly troll you & make fun of you, while saying things that bother you or get you riled up. Then he'll laugh about it & keep doing it. In a way, he's quite whimsical & has a tendency to, as I said in his app, play games with others. He even stalks Marika & tells her that he'd never hurt her the way Masamune did after Masamune pulls something dumb on her. Of course Marika kind of goes FUCK YOU at that.

He also initiates a fight with Masamune, trying to kill him due to the law of exclusive providence; where two clones with the same genes will try & kill each other. It's during that fight that it's revealed that clones go into a berserker mode around each other with red eyes & an enhanced sort of strength. It's kind of creepy, to be honest.

Anyway, that isn't all there is to Hiro's personality. During the later episodes we see that he DOES have a heart. & that's for Gota, his childhood friend & fellow clone. They grew up together & played games where Hiro was the villain & Gota was always the hero. Gota was there for him when other people picked on him & told him to shine the light on his necklace when he needed him. Because of this he helps Gota escape the cops & tries to convince Gota to stop his killing spree. He doesn't once lift a hand to try & kill Gota even though they are clones, which means that clones don't always have to kill each other if they don't want to.

This changes, however, when Gota is convinced that Hiro is after him. They fight & then fall off the staircase trying to fight for the knife. Gota falls on top of Hiro & impales himself on the knife & Hiro is distraught & he kind of goes crazy yelling that heroes don't die. He even cries & the next episode shows that he doesn't have the strength to keep stalking & trolling people because of what happened to Gota.

So Hiro isn't just a creepy troll. He's also a person & that gets shown in episode 6 the most. Especially during the end of the episode, where he swears to kill the guy who convinced Gota to kill him & also TOOK HIS ORGANS. Yeah, they took his organs & dropped his dead body into the ocean.

BUT. OKAY IN CAMP. Hiro is still the same. When he finds out that Takeru looks exactly like him except with black hair, he makes fun of it & tries to bother Takeru by telling him lies. This pisses Takeru off, which makes Hiro laugh & then Hiro goes to bother Ryuunosuke & trolls him HARD saying that their relationship will never work. This is what Hiro does. He trolls & he offends & he makes fun of people.

This changes, however, when he meets Genta. Genta presses his buttons about Gota without realizing it, which ends up with Hiro spilling the entire story to him. In a way, this makes him trust Genta, even though he usually doesn't trust most people. &, since he trusts Genta, he agrees to stop trying to upset his friends. So he's not going to troll them as hard as he was originally planning to. That doesn't mean that he won't be a dick to them if they approach him, though.

[ ETA ]; After watching episode 10, it's revealed that killing the master clone, Hazuki Mio, will free the other clones from the law of exclusive providence. Hiro wants Hazuki Mio to be killed to fulfill the two wishes he has. 1) to be free of the law & 2) to 'tear that man into shreds.' That man being the one behind the plan for clones. He wants to do the latter due to Gota; he did promise to get that person back, after all. ( this person is, surprise surprise, MASAMUNE'S FATHER )

So what he does is he trolls Masamune yet again into taking the address & card key to where Hazuki Mio is kept, saying that he shouldn't give up his own heart to save Marika. Instead he should get the heart of Hazuki Mio.

Another thing is that this episode shows that Hiro, yet again, has a heart & cares for Marika. He saves her even though he's injured to the point of dying & gets her to the hospital. He tells her that he can save her by giving his own heart to her because only a blood relative can transfer organs to her & him, being a clone, makes him kind of her blood relative. Though, it's also because he's about to die that he does this. But he thinks of Marika as v. warm & he feels as if he's as cold as his own regrets.

[ ETA ] Alright, last episode. Hiro admits to Marika that he's envious of Masamune for having such a loving family, for having friends who love him that much. That he wanted the same thing for himself. & then he dies. Only, not. The ending is incredibly obscure, he appears in front of Masamune & Marika & restarts the musical chairs game stating that only one can survive. It's my hope that there will be a second season because, really. REALLY.

[ ETA ] Also, this popped up in the wolf game. Hiro won't kill for no reason. He might laugh at people who DO get killed, but he won't kill unless there's a goddamn good reason. After all, the only reason he pushed Masamune off that building was because he thought he was the master clone.

[ ETA ] However, Hiro WILL kill in camp because death isn't permanent there.

Then there's the whole Eureka thing. He got close to her because he wants to be closer to people, just like he said when he was envious about Masamune & how close he was to his family. So when Eureka confided in him, he was touched & he decided to screw the game & chose Eureka over it. There's also the fact that he pretended to care off & on again throughout the game to shed suspicion off of him because he KNOWS he's a suspicious person due to his personality.

[ ETA ] Hiro really, really, REALLY cares about Eureka now. She hits all of his pings. & that's hard because of how Hiro is. He's not that empathetic. I mean, he is where Marika was concerned, but that was because he was both attracted to her & because they both 'lost' something that created a hole in their hearts. But Eureka brings out his protective side. Honestly, if something were to happen to her he would go on a killing spree trying to find out just who hurt her & why.

He also makes friends with Stefan after the whole incident where the signs were put up over their heads. Hiro's stated that he acts like a troll but really has feelings. Stefan saw this & commented on it. Hiro tried to play it off as nothing, but Stefan kept talking & the story came out. Then Stefan told him he accidentally killed his father who was trying to kill him just like how Hiro accidentally killed Gota who was trying to kill him. This made Hiro rethink things & he decides to become Stefan's friend.

Another random thing, Hiro likes playing with his fingers a lot, often making shapes with them, so he'll do that around you.
