All these people freaking out (mostly on CNN, since that's where I see it) about this whole Wikileaks thing being treason amuse me. How is it treason? It's a non-American posting stuff on (now) non-American servers using non-American ISPs. What part of that qualifies any of it as treason ( Read more... )

Here in the States they're still over the roof about it all. On the radio it's on the news, on the tv.... it's getting to be insane.

My opinion is more in line with what NPR is espousing - it's not treason, it would be espionage. All governments have secrets. Yeah, I get that. But the cables are harming the USA and her allies. The material was stolen. The material is damaging. And now half of the world is looking at each other thinking 'you really said that?!?'

I'm for honesty and transparency, but this went about it all the wrong way. And the protest-hackers? Yeah..... I have another issue with that. :)
