A blues song written for my new (old) TV, a beautiful plastic-wood paneled Tennessee flat top (not really) with attractive side venting.

Gilly’s a woodie,
An oldie but a goodie,
Good Eats is all we watch, yeah.

Good Eats with Alton Brown
Never gets ya down,
Too bad my woman’s gone.

Oh, baby.  Yeah.

Good Eats, Good Eats, Good Eats,
Gilly and I got it all day sweet
With Good Eats, yeah.

She’s gone, ain’t she?

Yeah, yeah, yeah.  Play that cheese fondue.

In other news, I sent $25.00 to the Red Cross today to help those poor people in New Orleans and surrounding wallows.  Then, for shits and giggles, I worked it out of my budget and realized I just sent nearly 1/5 of my month's wages.  I really, really love New Orleans, which has given me many fine memories, and I'm okay with that.  I just wish more people with larger incomes were sending aid, because I feel like such an insignificant drop in the bucket.  I know I can't afford to send more, but the whole thing is so sad.  At least they rescued Fats Domino.  His frantic daughter IDed him from a random photo, but as of news time his 75+ year old wife was still missing.  And this is the best they can do for a Rock and Roll icon,  the guy behind "Blueberry Hill," for Chrissake.  Naw'lins is a hurting, scary, hopeless and militant place right now.   Gangs of young men have armed themselves and stalk the shelters, raping women and shooting at relief workers.  Children and the elderly are dying of easily preventable diseases amidst corpses and human filth.  Mothers are tossing their infants onto buses headed out of the city and healthy midlifers are collapsing under the suffocating 100 degree heat.  Nobody has food.  Nobody has water.  Anarchy reigns.

I don't think $25.00 is going to go very far.
