I will make space for the Richard is about to juggle a grapefruit-icon if for nothing else XD I had somewhat mixed feelings about the second season but the quotes were great as always :D
(I thought much they same thing -- and said so in the post a couple of weeks ago that everyone ignored *sobs*, but having watched it a couple more times now for purposes of gif-making, I found it to be a lot more funny and clever than I had thought (still, I liked the first one more because it was about murder mysteries, not great heist blockbusters). Like, how far they took that heorin/continuity joke, or how they fucked with the male gaze, the pole dancers doing River Dance, Todd's ghost, and the complete telethon was utterly hilarious. Plus, that perfect ending makes up for a lot of weaker scenes too. *g*)
I hadn't watched it back then...I only got round while you were away. I somehow felt distracted by their plot XD I mean the first was just sillyness but in the second season I caught myself asking 'but why is boss still there when he murdered someone?'...like they gave me some logic and then I expected more XD
But they did explain it! Boss apologized, then went to therapy and hasn't killed anyone in months! So it's all good now. He is also seen reading Self-help literature in one scene. ^^ (they do address that in the Making Of: They had initially planned to have Cloth visit him in prison for advice but decided it would be a waste of the character and a great actor, so they decided, hey, we're writing a parody, our explanations do not have to be completely sound!
I though that kind of reasoning was perfectly in line with the rest of the show. ^^ -- also, Boss is my favourite character, so I'm not gonna question it too closely)
Yeah, it's like they tried to do a proper storyline with some character developement this time, which led to a couple of odd tonal shifts (like Oldman's whole storyline). But who knows, they might perfect the balancing of the two for the third series.
