Sarah Palin no longer a punchline

If Tina Fey wanted to squeeze any spoofs out of the vice-presidential debate, she would need comedic superpowers: Sarah Palin did extremely well. Of course, considering that the expectations for her were rock-bottom to begin with, that's not saying all that much. Still, there were no major gaffes. It's almost as if the Sarah Palin of the past weeks ( Read more... )

I pretty much agree with what you have said.

I think she stumbled quite a bit and dodged a lot of questions, the funniest part of the debate for me was when she talked about gay marriage, its almost like she got the definitions of civil union and gay marriage confused and she came across as having the same position as Obama and Biden and that would be a radical shift for the Republican party, I think we will see some back tracking on the issue.

I think Biden came out on top by a large margin and I think the Obama/Biden ticket will widen the gap because of it. On a side note I loved that Biden showed that he was also a father and someone who understands what normal want and need.

I was floored at her response to the gay marriage issue. I wonder if she really knew what she was saying. My guess would be that she was trying to give as inoffensive an answer as possible--she kept the focus personal ("my choice", "my friends", etc.)--and inadvertently wound up echoing Biden.

On a side note I loved that Biden showed that he was also a father and someone who understands what normal want and need.

I would say that was Biden's second strongest moment in the debate, and while I don't know if he was really choked up, his show of vulnerability certainly humanized him, which I think will help a lot.

this whole race is tiresome. why don't they just give obama the position and be done with it? mccain isn't so much of maverick, anymore. he's party is pulling him down. palin got raped when she got picked as vp and now she's paying for all the rape kit costs. :o(

As Biden pointed out very clearly, McCain was not a maverick when it mattered. The fact that he picked Palin as his VP was probably intended to highlight his maverick status, but it now looks like a serious error in judgment. And who would trust a president with bad judgment?

Your rape kit comment reminded me of this clip. Enjoy! :D
