Hey! Just out of curiosity, in what way do you think Birmingham is growing up?

i'm talking about the downtown area... historic birmingham. for a long time, everyone abandoned it for the growing suburbs, but lately, there has been growth down there that shows up in the building of all the new lofts, the rapidly growing local music scene, re-opening of shops and restaurants in areas that used to be dead. i love going downtown now, whereas several years ago, it just wasn't as exciting.
