and we're back

I haven't written in ages. Being hugely pregnant and trying to move and finish up work leave little time for witty journal entries. Then having a baby, recovering from a C-section, suffering a stomach bug and then an infection and also trying to figure out breastfeeding and other aspects of caring for a tiny human also leave little time for ( Read more... )

I'm so glad to see you back on LJ!

That sure was a rough start. How's Naomi sleeping now?

For me, the first part of motherhood was so, so, so hard, and it gradually got better and better. There are those moments of cuddling, though, that are just the greatest moments ever.

Also, you should post a new picture. :D Because I like pictures of Naomi. That is all.

she is sleeping...ok...I guess. We have some great nights and some tough ones. Last night was tough and she didn't want to be put down at all. But even on the tough nights, she's not crying or terribly fussy so I try to be grateful for that. It's hard to be grateful when you're exhausted but I know she's an easy baby and we're really lucky.

I have been mostly posting pics on Facebook since hardly anyone reads this. :)

Oh, I check out Facebook all the time. But there's never enough pictures to satisfy me. :P

I'm glad she isn't so fussy. Sounds like you really lucked out and won the baby lottery. <3

we did get a good one...though I'm sure this means we will suffer immensely through the terrible two's...or the dreaded teenage years

I don't know if I said this on FB but I just love the name Naomi. Adorable!

Thank you! It was Adam's grandmother's name. She passed away (just before her 100th birthday!) the morning of our very first ultrasound. We knew from the beginning her name would be Naomi if she was a girl.

I'm not sure who all is reading this blog, but let me ask you this:

Did the new grandbaby bring out a different side of either of the (grand)mothers' personalities?

1) Emmy in those sunglasses is too adorable!
2) Naomi is the 5th grandchild on Adam's side...so we've already seen how much fun his parents have as grandparents. Nothing surprising there...although it was a little surprising to me how emotional Adam's dad got when we named her after his mom.
3) Naomi is the 1st grandchild for my parents and it has been so much fun for me to see them as grandparents. They're totally gaga over her...I wonder if that's how they were with us when we were babies.
4) Is there a way to keep grandparents from spoiling her? Probably not...I guess that's what grandparents are for.
