I miss livejournal. The immediacy of modern incarnations of social media (Facebook, Twitter, whatever new thing the kids are into) is great, but sometimes it feels like everything's reduced to a "like." We get instant approval, but that's about it. The days of more introspective, personal posts are gone, along with the more thoughtful, personal ( Read more... )

No....more just that MU*ing kinda died and we both went our ways. I didn't figure that I ever actually mattered to most of the people on Crypt.

Yeah, I figure a lot of these lost friendships are just due to "going our separate ways." Maybe I just tend to hold on a little longer than most. But as for "mattering," well, I kept track! And aside from some political differences, I enjoy reading what you have to say. I commented on one of your entries from a few months back. Don't know if you saw that or not.

When it comes to MUSHing, sometimes I wonder -- was it just the stories we miss, or the people?

I'd say the people more than anything else. It's the friends you make and keep that really matter. MMO's are too impersonal and too fast-paced to get to know someone. During a raid, who's got time to natter about music between poses?
