Title: Services Rendered
Rating: PG-13
Characters/Pairings: Matsumoto Jun/Sakurai Sho
Summary: It was always early mornings that made Jun question why he retained Sakurai’s services.
Notes/Warnings: For the Drabble-a-thon at sakumoto. A request by l3aibua who wanted Jun as the heir of a rich noble family and Sho as his loyal butler.

It was always early mornings that made Jun question why he retained Sakurai’s services. For one, the man would enter his bedroom far too early, his spit-shined shoes clomping noisily like some kind of wild animal as he pulled open the curtains to remind Jun that yet another day was upon them.

Then when Sakurai brought in his newspapers, Jun could always tell that his butler had poked through them first - the business section never got folded back in properly. The toast was cold by the time Sakurai brought up the breakfast tray. He kept trying to assist Jun with his daily clothing selection even if Jun knew what looked good on him far better than any butler would - especially a butler with no fashion sense of his own.

“New York exchange closed down two hundred and fourteen points, sir,” Sakurai informed him as he brought in the morning meal. “Will you be going in today?”

He pulled the mask off his eyes, grumbling. “I will not.”

“Will you be attending the Giants game, sir? Shall I call and have them set up the skybox?”

Jun felt like death, but that was just every morning. The sun came far too soon for his liking. He poked at his breakfast - he was just glad they had a cook. If Sakurai made his breakfast, he’d probably choke.

But taking in a game did sound preferable to working. “Yes, go ahead. Invite some of the shareholders - baseball will help them get over New York’s misfortunes.”

“Very good, sir.”

“And invite yourself.”

Sakurai paused on the way out of the room. “Me?”

The butler was beside himself, and Jun simply sipped his morning mimosa. “Of course. It’s no fun if you’re not there.”

So yes, Sakurai’s job performance left much to be desired, but at the same time, Jun would have no one else. He didn’t know anyone who could moan so perfectly from his touch, after all. Didn’t know anyone who would polish the silver one minute and polish him off with his mouth the next.

“Thank you, sir. I am grateful for the invitation.”

He nodded, picking up the cold toast. “Just get my dry cleaning, and I’d call that a fair exchange.” Sakurai bowed and went to excuse himself. “Oh, and Sakurai?”

“Sir?”

“Just a heads up. Random inspection of your room today.”

Sho’s face was as professional as he could manage, but his white-gloved hands were quivering at his sides. “Random as always, sir?”

Jun smiled, thinking of what those white-gloved hands could do.

“Oh yes, quite random. Dismissed.”
