I will not have networked computers aboard this ship

You're taking orders from a schoolteacher?
* * *
If the two of you, of all people, can live with that, then the human race doesn't stand a chance. Clear your heads.
* * *
You're still standing
So are you
And I can dance
* * *
It's always been between us anyway
* * *
Every day since then is a gift
From the gods
No, from you
* * *
Just goes to show you, Bill, never give up hope
Same goes for you, Laura

I’m thinking of building a cabin.
* * *
We should just enjoy this
I am
* * *
The answer’s yes. I absolutely would have built the cabin.
* * *
You’re always welcome in one of my beds. In a manner of speaking.
* * *
Get your fat, lazy ass out of that rack, Roslin.
* * *
You’re so afraid to live alone
And you’re afraid to die that way.
* * *
From the moment I open my eyes, she's in my blood, like cheap wine. Bitter and sweet, tinged with regret. I'll never be free of her, nor do I want to be. For she is what I am. All that is, should always be.
* * *
What made you change?
You. You made me believe.
* * *
I can’t live without her.
* * *
Missed you
Me too. I love you
'bout time
* * *
I've earned it, haven't I?
Yes, you've earned it
Well, guess what, Bill. So have you.
* * *
I don’t do passive-aggressive
Yes you do. You just don’t know that’s what it is.
* * *
I'm coming for all of you!
* * *
I don’t think I’ve ever felt truly at home until these last few months, here with you.
* * *
You didn't think you were gonna take off without me, Admiral, did you?
Never crossed my mind, Madam President.
* * *
So much life.
* * *
When the sun comes from behind the mountains, it's almost heavenly. It reminds me of you.

The bell rings, Mr Number Twelve sits across the table from her. Lucky number twelve? The eleven ahead of him had been duds, that’s for sure.
Stocky, Pockmarked skin. Oh dear. Nice blue eyes, though.
He’s holding out his hand. Shake it.
“So, Mr … ?”
“Adama. Bill Adama”
“Adama? Unusual name”
“It’s Tauron”
“Oh. You’re from Tauron originally?”
“My family, yes”
He falls silent. A beat. Two beats.
“I’m Laura Roslin.”
“Good to meet you, Laura”.
Again. Silence. This is like pulling teeth. Why come to this if you’re not going to talk?
“So, what do you do for a living, Bill?”
“Military. I’m stationed on a battlestar”
“Oh. My job is nothing like as exciting. I teach. Though it can be hair-raising at times.”
A small smile. Still silent.
“I guess that’s why you’re here? Can’t be a lot of opportunity for dating up in space”
“I guess”
For frak’s sake. Gonna have to use some of these example questions. Smile at him.
“What’s your favourite food?”
“I eat a lot of noodles”
Noodles. She thinks of the spice racks in her kitchen. Noodles? No way.
“Your turn”
He picks up a card.
“Where do you see yourself in five years time?”
If Richard has his way, in his bed, most likely.
“I’d like to move closer to the shore, really. Always loved that sea air”
“I’ll be in space. Wanna make commander one day.”
Suppress a shudder. Imagine being cooped up in a metal box for that long. Don’t think so.
“Do you read?”
“I love to read.”
Well, there’s a start.
“What about sports?”
“I spar sometimes”
“Oh! I love a good fight. I love box-“
The bell rings, he moves on. Maybe number thirteen will be better. Though, nice blue eyes...
She memorises his name.
