14 - Ratings - how high are you comfortable with going? Have you ever written higher? If you're comfortable with NC-17, have you ever been shocked by finding that the story you're writing is G-rated instead?Heh. Ok. I don’t usually write above a T rating. I am odd with you so I am glad you put this up. I have a tough time trying to write something particularly explicit (though I obviously think it's great that people do). Deranged serial killer stories are easier for me. I guess, I hope people generally know that I don't want to do whatever horrible crime? But writing explicit sex feels like it could be, or even just look like, too much of a window into my head.

I know what you mean. I don't know that I'm finding it too personal to write the things I'm writing at the moment--some of it is definitely me, but some of it isn't, so it feels enough at a distance that I can not feel too uncomfortable with writing it. I can definitely see circumstances where it would be way too personal, though.

I just like story. I'm a story-addict, so I like all kinds of fics, not just sex-focused ones, I guess, and the best fics for me are a mix of different genres.

Thanks :) I sometimes feel a bit awkward about it, because I think I sometimes don't explain it very well and it leaves people feeling defensive, which is not what I want at all!
