Right after I read the prompt a rock was the first thing that popped into my head, and it seemed very Kara-esque. Glad you agree!

The jumping in thought was that I figured I would start out gen and work my way into the shippiness. The characters decided otherwise.

Oh, this is just delightful! I love it took a bit of a left turn near the end there as Laura realizes that she's teasing a bit too much.

I love it! A pet rock is perfect for the two of them, and I love how Laura works to reassure Kara at the end.

In my mind, the two of the are very busy/preoccupied, so a pet rock was really the only feasible thing. Unless Laura was retired...
