I think once you've had something like sight or hearing and then lost it, it would be sad no matter how long it had been. I've been told that people adjust over time but often wondered what choice do they have really? How in the world does anyone adjust to that? I dont know, I just know ever since I had my first eye surgery at 6 years old and was made fun of by other kids all through school because of the way my eye turned out, I was very aware that I was terrified of ever going blind. I wish there was something I could say to make you feel better but I dont know... we just wanted you to know someone was listening.
