You know, tumblr has many shortcomings and part of me will always loathe that site and wait for fandom to finally find a new platform to move to

My biggest problem with their tagging system, is that unless you use x-kit, their search function no longer used it. (and firefox, may it burn in hell, decided to stop me from reinstalling after the last waste of time update that only makes things worse)
Aside of that, on lj, I use tags for my personal use, to find things in my own journal, so I can tag them however I want.
On tumblr though, tags are pretty much the only way to find any kind of community, or on topic conversation, so you can't just tag any opinion on any tag. (making it harder since you have to pick whether something is worth putting anti in front of it or not)
On top of that, since tumblr lacks a decent comment section, people end up using the tags to comment on stuff, often making it harder to find responses on things.
You can still access the tags on tumblr if you just write the url, that's what I usually do. The search feature is crap. The second the tag feature gets removed completely, the site will lose its use.
Firefox screwed up xkit for everyone, but the xkit guys make a fix that was available a couple days later. On second attempt, it installed for me just fine, it even remembered my extensions.

Glad to know that xkitt was finally fixed. Honestly, tumblr is pretty much unusable without it. I honestly don't know what the kids see in the site. The only thing it's good for is sharing and reblogging pictures.
And yeah, the big problem with the use of anti-tags, is that only people who disliked the ep or show look into the anti-tags, so you end up ruining any enjoyment you might still have had about a show (I mostly only use them when discussing specific characters, like say my utter despise of Stiles from Teen Wolf*eg*)
Tumblr has its pros and cons... it grows on you though. But I want to try to become a bit more active on LJ again, at least while my schedule is so light.
My daughter's been making headway on tumbler, but it just doesn't work for me :-/ I've not been around LJ much either, though, since everyone started disappearing. I miss my fandom friends!!!
Yeah, that's what a lot of people say. People are leaving because people are leaving. Shame... it was a good time here. Well, maybe my future fandom will be back to LJ, who knows. Would be nice.

I've been gone for quite a bit also, but I hope to be around more. I have to admit, tumblr doesn't do it for me.
