Take a step forward. No, take a step back. Take a step forward...

Family reunion = good times. We had 200 people for dinner Saturday night. That's a lot of posterity from my great g'pa & g'ma. And there's still probably 100 other relatives who haven't pulled their heads out and realized how much fun we're having. We'll get them.

I hate money. I hate that I want things that cost money. I hate that Aaron and I don't ( Read more... )

$850 isn't unheard of here, for like a two bedroom, 700 sqare foot apartment, but she was looking at a 400 foot studio. It's just that particular area, and because she's not familiar w/ Salt Lake county, didn't know to look a few miles west or east...

However, you get Oprah.

A weeks' groceries for $41?? Holy crap!

OMG, we also have a husband type in common. Mikey's come around a good bit. He actually has bigger optimism than I do about things. That probably has something to do with the fact that he doesn't worry over the bills all the time, though. However, for the longest time, I would mention something like, a camper or a new vehicle and he would go completely ape. I finally gave him the wherefore on the fact that even if we stayed poor forever, I was going to at least going to be able to dream. You can't pull a needle from his butt with a tractor.

so, I'd suspect that the money issue will get better over time. I can understand how Aaron feels--I was completely stressed about how much I was spending last year (my first year on my own). After a few months of being way under budget, I relaxed a bit. This year, I get your end of things--Austin's very very worried about money and I'm more laid back. Getting a month of being within budget (barely! more start up costs this time) has helped. So, to make a long post short, I bet once you get past the tight spot, it should get better.

That's also an impressive grocery shopping feat. I think we spend more than that, and only for two people...How do you manage it, exactly?

i'd just like to say that i firmly believe that that gross stuff was far stickier and weirder than actual rhino skin would be. and if i'm wrong, may i never touch a rhino.

also, i wasn't sure i'd ever find something that i didn't even think was worth a whole dollar. i think i found it in that train ride. but at least cooper liked it. ;)

He still says it was his favorite thing about the zoo.

And I"m racking my brain to think of other things that aren't worth a dollar..... ummmmmm.

I've got one! Generic/Store Brand Macaroni & Cheese. Have you tried that stuff? It's awful. It's not even worth the $.54.

oh yeah. it's sick. can you imagine eating generic mac&cheese while riding the zoo train and listening to conductor mcmuffin talk? someone would have to pay me a lot of money.

Holy Noodles, I'd almost forgotten about the conductor!

This could quickly degenerate into a game of "What's Worse?".

Okay, add Eris in the seat behind you on said train!
