That article is atrocious. I was gonna point out each blatant stupidity in the article, but the thing really isn't worth the trouble.

Internet's just a tool. That's it. I wish people would stop treating it as an ailen entity in itself and start looking at the vast network of existing human connections availble, forums for establisment of new connections, and the unparallelled wealth of information it offers.

If you think about it, the difference between the social niches Internet and cellphones occupy is slight (Internet is better), but cellphones just happen to have been successfully promoted as cool and socially advantageous, unlike poor old 'net.
