I went down to Mountain Equipment Co-op yesterday and got some great bargains. I picked up a bicycle computer for $11.50 and a water bottle holder for $2.75. That's less than half of what they were asking at United Cycle. I'm glad I didn't overpay for the computer, too, because I tried it out yesterday and found it to be something of a ( Read more... )

a computer? what does it do? and anyways, shouldn't you be biking, not computing?

yeah, those expensive bikes (and biking accessories) are like the car industry. if you didn't make something new and shiny, people would realize that the bike they have is fine. and THEN what would the economy look like?!!

Oh, wait, that was me yesterday. And you would have known that, if I had a computer on my bike. (And if you read my facebook, and if I ever updated it) And imagine, it was right in front of where they sell them! :)

It doesn't really compute anything. Mine is just a speedometer and odometer. More expensive ones can figure out how many calories you've burned, and your cadence (it tells you what gear to use so you can pedal at your ideal rpm). I just wanted to know how fast I'm going and how far my trips are, though.
