Snakes Onna Plane! No Really! (ok the story itself isn't that interesting, but c'mon...)

Three interesting:
Russia end Chechnya operation I remember when the Chechnya operation started; I had been to Russia not that long before. I have a lot of mixed thoughts about this, and I don't think I can really articulate them without a long ( Read more... )

Until I read the article, I thought you meant the canned spiced ham. I wouldn't be surprised, with how popular it is in Hawaii and the CO2 of shipping it there with such regularity and in such quantities.

P.S. I knew you had asthma! *feels proud*

P.P.S. I miss A so if you need me to babysit again I want to! She's reaching the age where babies and dogs sort of have the same attention span and are amused by the same things!

Yeah, science reporting sucks. I was actually just about to see if I could track down an original source for it, which probably has that kind of info in it. One would hope, anyway.

My asthma is triggered the most by second-hand smoke (I'm sure if I first-hand smoked that would be it, but I don't), secondly by certain kinds of exercise (e.g. running). It is worse now that I'm overweight (damn pregnancy weight, go away!), but it did exist before.

I read the spam=CO2 in the news today as well. I think it seems bogus though. Perhaps the added time to delete spam would produce greater energy if office workers were staying longer in the office to finish the work that was offset by the spam hunting. I'm not convinced that is happening. The spam hunting may reduce productivity, but the amount of energy the computer uses during those 9-5 hours would likely not be altered.

"The PC on our desks uses more power when they do work, so the numbers are based on the additional work they use when dealing with spam," he said. You're already doing work! Deleting spam is just doing different work ( ... )

Lol, no I agree. OTOH, I do think targeting spam people at the source is a good idea. I don't spend much time on my spam, though I do have to actually glance through it on Yahoo! since it frequently filters stuff I don't want it to.

Wow, I just reread this. Apparently, I'm illiterate.
