I've been working on the regular year-end fic roundup meme, but I don't want to post that one until after Yuletide reveals, so I can actually include all of the year's fic in it.

"An American Bibliophile in London" set me to wondering how Helene Hanff's "84, Charing Cross Road" might have turned out had Aziraphale's bookshop been the one that she visited. (If you haven't read that book, you really should.)

I'm almost tempted to write a short story based on the idea. The thing holding me back is that I'm not sure that I could capture the tone of voice of an acerbic but kind-hearted, middle-aged, literary New York woman. If you should also feel tempted, please be my guest.
