I'm not a fan of Twitter. Last month, I even tried it for a week. I have an iPhone now, so it seemed like the thing to do. I added friends I knew, and before they could even respond....I took myself off

Yeah, I've avoided the Twitter bandwagon myself. I've read a few tweets but just can do without it. Apparently, Shaquille O'Neal really is on it and that seems to have caused it to go downhill for the Twitter purists/geeks who were first-users. I have enough between LJ and Facebook. I don't need another place to put up mildly interesting status messages.
I don't know that I need to know everything about any celebrity. I think having so much access to them has contributed to the decline of the "glamour" that there once was. The mystery was kind of a nice thing. I have a life of my own I don't really need to hang on every detail of celebrities' lives. I doubt they'd hang on every detail of mine.
I'm on the twitter fence. I like it because I can post from my phone anywhere, and my original intention was to do it to remind myself to post funny/interesting stuff that happened to me...then it became the only way I could get myself to post...
I'm just glad my friends on LJ that twitter do what I do and loud twitter, so it's only once a day! I don't really follow people on twitter, just read the daily recaps!
I TOTALLY agree! Maybe I'm turning into an old fogey, but I positively hate Twitter posts on LJ. Ditto the thousands of Jane Doe is eating a sandwich, Jane Doe is sleepy, Jane Doe wants coffee, Jane Doe is watching CSI, Jane Doe is incapable of not cluttering Face Book with uninteresting, irritating, boring minutiae.
I use the twitter update function here on LJ, but to be honest, I never read anyone else's LJ Twitter updates. More than likely, anyone who posts tweets here on LJ is my friend on twitter, so I have already read the tweets there.
Anyways, I don't expect anyone to read my Twitter updates here...they are more for my reference and records anyways. But, if someone does want to read them, they are a good record of what I am up to most days, which right now are very hectic with a very active toddler monopolizing most of my attention.
I totally understand how posting them on LJ is usually for one's own personal record. I was going to do the same myself, since I had been so bad about posting on LJ at all! I get so busy, I never have time. But I think I'm anti-twitter because it reminds me of the secret messages between a couple of people I know...and it hurts me. So I can't get myself to like it.
