For yetregressing, for the prompt Ain't it so weird, how it makes you a weapon?Martin sometimes thinks his life would be easier if his family had been more like the Barnams. Not with the insanely militant thing, that's not it at all, it's just... He envies their solidarity. The consistency of calling. Growing up knowing what you were meant to do, and the ( Read more... )

Half the time, I forget how much Romanapocalypse fucked him up, and then I stop and take a look at it and go "Oh, right. Fuck." Poor Martin. (He doesn't seek out tinehgirls! They just... happen to him. XD)

MAAAAAATIIIIIIIIIN. *FLAILS* JFAJFD;ASDJG;SAKDJG;SADGJ I LOVE YOU.

This was so so awesome. I just... I love that he wants to help so so badly and I love that... I love everything. I'm never good at commenting, but this was SO AMAZING, every aspect of it. Seriously. Augh. Like Chris said, the end was like a punch in the gut. Well the whole thing was like a punch in the gut, but...

I'm incoherent now. This was beautiful.

(Um. Yeah. Staying in recognizable journals is overrated.)

Thaaaank you! The ending was the most annoying part to write, so I'm glad you mentioned that. ♥

Martin. WAUGH.

Tinehgirls totally just happen to Martin. XD *scritches him*

This was so wonderful. I adore him as a character, and I love this insight to him, his longings, what he says and most especially what he doesn't.

Thank you! I hardly ever get to play with some parts of Martin because... some parts just never make it to the surface. It's a lot of fun to play with them, when I remember they exist, though. (I will try to write something less angsty for his prompt from you. Maybe. XD)

aklralea! Martin, awww! >< The part where he has to keep his mouth closed instead of saying "you're welcome" made me flail so hard. I loved this piece. I loved getting the insight into his thoughts and just this scene with him and this girl. Just yeah.

Also, the fact that he envies the Barnams sometimes caught me between laughing and thinking that that's very sad. :<

At this point, most of them will accept orders from anyone still standing to give them.

I'm in love with that line. I think it described in one short, sweet sentence just how everyone is feeling. I love it when people say a lot in a little. It makes me flail in admiration.

Also, the last line? Absolutely perfect and painful.

Thank you! It is... really sad that he envies the Barnams sometimes. He gets that they're crazy, but... he's also kind of a family friend, so he's seen them when they're relatively not-scary, and he doesn't have much of a family anymore and oh, Martin.

And I'm glad you guys keep mentioning that you liked the last line. Because I got most of this story out really quickly and could not find a last line for HOURS and wanted to light things on fire. XD Nice to know my frustration didn't go to waste.

It IS really sad. Oh, Martin. >< You do not want to envy them, but I can understand especially after reading this piece... why he does. Still. >< No one should want to be a Barnam.

XD It did not go to waste at all! I hope nothing got lit on fire for its sake, but if it did... it did not burn to a crisp in vain.
