If Qaddafi survives in power it'll only be after a large and bloody civil war at this point. Half of Libya has already defected along with the military in that area. They are well armed and defiant and have control of the infrastructure and support of the local population. I don't see any easy/quick/bloodless way they are going back to the status quo at this point.

Yes, but there is no guarantee that the Good Guys automatically win the ensuing civil war. Gaddafi has significant foreign backing, from other Terrorist State regimes, and if the West merely watches, this could be a "Spanish Civil War."
