I hope things get better for you soon. ;_; It sounds like it's some kind of food poisoning (I know that salmonella causes bloody stool as it exits the system) but the vet would be able to do a fecal exam to confirm this. If she has salmonella she would need antibiotics. She might be able to get better on her own, but in the meantime she could be reinfecting members of your household. :O

The fact that members of your family have been getting sick too makes me wonder...if they had touched sushi that had been contaminated and let Rhea lick their hands she could have gotten it that way. Or she should have picked it up from the bathroom. Of course, it's still plausible that she had it first and passed it around.

I really do sympathize with your apprehension about the vet. You might have to make suggestions to them if they seem too willing to drop it. Unfortunately, it seems that dogs are more susceptible to food poisoning than cats, at least. Cats have such short intestinal tracts that the bacteria usually passes through before they get
