Valerie arrived in Delhi by plane on Saturday evening. The pick-up went smoothly, we talked till 3am, and got up at 5am to catch the train to Agra. Due to my mistake (in my sleep deprived state) and Valerie trusting me to be the experienced traveler, we fell victim to a classic India scam and missed our train. I have had some pretty terrible birthdays in the past. One of the worst was the time I got dumped ON my birhday in the MIDDLE of a backpacking trip. It was sudden, unexpected, and he ignored me and acted as if nothing was wrong for the next 36hours. I was miserable ( Read more... )

After a good nights sleep, I am feeling like a traveler and went for a nice early morning walk today. It is nice to be up and walking in the cool of the morning before the chaos of the day begins.
