my iPod just crashed, then deleted its entire contents in one fell swoop.
what. the. fuck.

doing restore also deletes everything, apparently. just not stuff in your itunes library (of course, i have nothing in my itunes library ;))

That's happened to me before. I was so peeved! Especially since I hadn't kept my itunes on my computer in sync.
it took me forever to get it all back. I hope you don't have to do it the hard way. Not fun.
