Title: In the Dark, With Smiles On Our Faces
Fandom: Axis Powers Hetalia
Characters: Turkey, Greece; implied Turkey/Greece
Rating: PG
Author's Notes: written for linguini, your other fic turned out to be longer then what I expected it to be, so it'll be posted tomorrow.

Also this is really different from how I normally write. I actually intended for them to have sex, but it didn't work out that way. Damnit Turkey and Greece, why won't you work for my porning needs.

There were days when they seek each other out...

These days were not of any significant importance (unless you count it as a miracle that they didn't start fighting within the first five minutes), but all the same, these days were not ordinary days. They seemed to alternate whose house they would use, today it was Turkey's day.

Sometime in the afternoon, Greece would show up on the front step of Turkey's home. Rather then slam the door in his face, like he would normally do, Turkey would step aside and let Greece in, muttering "Hoş geldin." Greece nods once, replying with "Hoş bolduk," and walks in, remembering his childhood in the home and taking off his shoes before stepping on the carpet. Already, the scent of lamb is strong.

"Should be done in 'bout a half hour."

Greece nods again and makes his way to Turkey's living room, Turkey following not that far behind. They sit together on his couch, in comfortable silence. Greece notices that Turkey's not wearing his mask today. No matter how long they've known each other, and no matter how many times he's seen Turkey mask less, the sight is still a strange one, and it's one that Greece prefers, not that he'll ever tell the other man that, he'll surely lord it over Greece's head and make it a point to always keep the mask on.

You can always tell what Turkey is feeling when his mask is off, and right now, if Greece were to look at Turkey's face, then he would tell that Turkey is content and relaxed right now. Greece is almost half-tempted to call Turkey a cat, but he won't. Whatever good feeling that is in the room right now would surely fade away, and he's sure that Turkey doesn't want to go out and buy new furniture tomorrow.

True to what Turkey said, the food was ready in thirty minutes.

Şiş kebap. Of course, but Greece doesn't mind. Once they start eating, the words start coming out. It's not really shocking to see how well they can talk with one another, when they make it a point to be nice, they've practically been around one another for their whole lives. Turkey and Greece talk about anything and everything, keeping in mind to steer clear of certain topics (which is why Turkey doesn't have any baklava on the table). They're still talking once the food is gone and all that is left is skewers. Turkey has bottles of spirits on the table, Ouzu for Greece and Rakı for himself. Both bottles are only half-empty, and they're still reaching for more...

The bottles are soon empty, and it's late at night. Either way, they're both too incapacitated to really leave Turkey's house. The alcohol on their breaths is strong. They don't even need that close to each other to smell it. Turkey helps Greece to an empty room, laughing the whole there about how Greece can't hold his liquor like he can. Greece points out that he's leaning on Turkey just as much as Turkey is leaning on him, and that shuts him up. Greece laughs.

Once they're in the room, they both tumble onto the bed.

"Old man... get off my bed."

"Brat, this is my bed, an' I'm just lettin' ya sleep in it."

Arguing into the night, neither one makes an effort to leave the bed. Turkey soon wraps his arms around Greece's body and Greece settles himself into them.

"For a pillow... you smell bad."

"Shut it brat, an' go t' sleep."

Turkey makes a mental note to toss Greece out of his house first thing in the morning.

... well, if he makes breakfast, then it could wait until after they've eaten.

But it better be a damn good breakfast.

"Hoş geldin/Hoş bolduk" is common Turkish for what you say when you welcome someone/enter a place.
Ouzu is a popular Greek spirit, and Rakı is a popular Turkish one. Despite the Muslim majority in Turkey, alcohol is found just as often as you would find it in any other European country.
