A New Job...

Well, it looks like I have to find another job. I'm starting to regret that I went to Vancouver because Staples has been cutting my hours back ever since I returned; I currently work one day a week because they are so sure that I'm going to just get up and leave. Um, no, that's not how it works ( Read more... )

Sorry to hear about the jobby troubles. You could try to get two part time positions if you can't get a full-time position.

Yeah; I'm trying to avoid the whole working two part-time jobs thing because the last time I did that, it only overwhelmed me. Rachael is coming to visit on Monday; she, Miranda and I were thinking of hanging out. You should come with!
Miranda and I are also planning a trip to Barrie on Tuesday. if you'd like to come with us, let me know and I'll tell Mir. ^_^ we would LOVE for you to come and hang on Monday, but if you can't make it Tuesday, that's okay.

I'm probably gonna be out for a lot of monday. I work during the day at Connaught, cataloguing, and then right after I'm going to go work at the library. D: And Tuesday, methinks, is pretty much the same deal.

I'm sorry to hear they're screwing you around! =( That's so unfair of them! Are you supposed to be working full-time? If so, maybe you can take them to court or report them or something for failing to fulfill your contract or whatever?

I'm supposed to be working part-time, but I didn't know that "part-time" meant four hours a week. When I applied for the job, I was assured that I would get no less than 25 hours a week and that's why I took the job in the first place.
My hours have been getting lower and lower ever since I returned from British Columbia, but we've been hiring out the wazoo. In my opinion, if they want to hire people, that's fine but first they should give some hours to the people who already work there.

You're absolutely right! I think, but am not sure, that as a Part-Time employee you're supposed to legally be granted a set number of hours - 25 a week or something. You could look into that and see maybe?
