Catherine sat up, a little groggy. She hadn't bothered taking any kind of painkiller for her ankle, not wanting to keep it from more serious cases. The couple of more serious cuts she had were bandaged, and her bruises were still fairly livid. She'd been in and out of fitful sleep since retreating to the office, Valentine on the couch beside her.

"Hi," she whispered.

Concern melted over his features as he finally entered the room. Though Carson knew that her injuries weren't serious, he still hated to see her like this.

It was hard not to be a doctor for a moment.

"How're you feeling?" He asked, closing the distance between them.

"Tired. Sore. Missed you," she said simply. Catherine suspected she wasn't going to be able to sleep until he was with her. The dog whined, and she patted him.

Carson smiled a little before his expression shifted. Normally, he would have kicked Valentine off of the couch, but he looked worse for the wear as well.

"You haven't slept?" He asked, slightly concerned. He'd only gotten a few hours himself, but it wasn't as if he hadn't done it before. He could catch up once the infirmary was a little more manageable.
