I am the queen of procrastination

Apr 23, 2011 17:08

I should be doing dishes and cleaning, which is what I intended to do today, but instead I'm doing everything in my power to avoid it. I hates me some chores, let me tell you. So, here are a few random thoughts/updates:

1. Happy Easter everyone!

2. The Exchange: I'm still pinching myself over the AMAZING art I received for the dmhgficexchange. Unfortunately, my ( Read more... )

Happy East to you too!

Like we've already discussed, it's not a big deal if you don't have time to read everything. We all have lives away from the computer, and frankly, that should be how it is *hugs*

So is this a different guy from the one you met on that website? If so, I'm sorry to hear that things didn't work out. From what I remember, it sounded like things were going well. But, I'm also happy to hear that you're dating again, however slowly. I'm much the same when it comes to relationships-with the exception that I haven't had a date in ages. Oh well. I'm a working girl :)

Speaking of weddings, my older sister is getting married this August, and I do get that dreaded question. I ignore the looks of pity because it is fun being single at my age. We're flying to Chicago this may for her stagette. I'm so excited!

I agree, it's just hard to find time to read them all!

Yes, it is a different guy. The other one and I broke up in February. We were really just in two different places in life, and had different priorities (a.k.a. I actually have some and he doesn't, LOL). I'm a working girl, too. It's not a bad thing to be these days, you know? ;)

Chicago is a fun city! Have fun! (I'm guessing a stagette is equivalent to our bachelorette party?). Luckily I don't get pitying looks too often (I think I'm still too young to get many), but I am nervous that they'll start giving me them at my little sis's wedding. I'm hoping my confident attitude will prevent them though...

1. Happy Easter to you as well!

2. I wish I had more time to read the stories, but I know I won't be able to. It is wonderful there are so many fics though! Good to know our ship is still strong. I too have noticed the change in con-crit this time around. I can understand the "I kind of wish this would have happened" type of comments, but I feel badly for the author when I see the typo/grammar comments.

3. That's wonderful you had a nice date with a sweet guy. I hope you go out with him again. Of course, there's nothing wrong with being a crazy old cat lady. :P

4. Congratulations to your sister! I'm sure you'll have a fantastic time! But if things go downhill, just tell yourself it can't be as bad as my little sister's wedding in which our father, whom I hadn't seen in five years, actually introduced himself to me because he didn't recognize me with makeup and my hair up and later got so drunk he called my sis and I up during his reception speech as "The Pretty One" and "The Smart One". Thanks, Dad. :)

1. Thanks! :)

2. I agree, I think there is a bit more con-crit than usual. Yeah, the spelling/grammar - I know the usual rule is to PM or message the author, but since the exchange is anonymous, I guess they can't do that...Dunno. I've never been much of a person to give con-crit myself.

3. Yep, we are probably doing something this weekend. :)

4. Oh goodness, you poor thing! I really don't think anything like that would ever happen at my sister's wedding...Come to think of it, I don't even think I've ever seen my dad even remotely drunk before. I can't believe yours didn't even recognize you! o_O

2. To be honest, I think a lot of the concrit is because there are way more mistakes in many of the submitted fics. They are less "clean" this year. I've noticed less beta activity (more calls for help, less response) - that may have contributed. And I'm a bit worried that Bingo is responsible, too (people must read/review to win prizes, where they may have opted to not review at all as the nicer option in the past).

~sigh~

Enjoy the wedding. Ignore busybody relatives.

Aw, don't worry bb, I think it's a great thing that the bingo is getting more people to review, and concrit isn't necessarily a bad thing. I think it's fine that people are pointing out ways the author could improve, as long as they continue do it tactfully. And so far, I haven't noticed any flaming, so that's a good sign. :) I wish I would've had time to sign up for the bingo myself, but with how busy I am these days, I suspect I'd only fill 2 or 3 squares on my card. XD

And thanks - ignoring busybody relatives is very good advice!

4. I hate when people ask that question! Makes me terribly annoyed.
2. Have you read The Garden? It's short and really lovely. I think it was in Week 2 or possibly 3.
